Yissss I got a bunch of tinys for 50USD each. I5/16GB DDR4/256GB NVMe. They run home theater computers and Linux servers AMAZINGLY. I would have bought more if they had more available.

No worries, no rush! It’s gonna be a weekend project, I think. I’ve got a cluster of separate RPis all doing different stuff, an unused Pi 5 8GB, and some new Lenovos… I think I can condense everything to one machine hahaha.
Right now I’m running Pi-Hole on a headless Pi and OMV on a second headless Pi, the OMV is just sharing a couple HDDs. If I wanted everything on one lil Lenovo through Docker, would you have any advice for a distro? Should I just pop Mint on it and set it all up that way?
(Very new and learning, currently have a Pop! desktop that’s been a champion for game stuff while I try to find a new SSD to switch my main game desktops to Linux)

That would be very helpful for me, thank you so much! I am VERY new to docker, but managed to get something difficult up and running with it (a modded game server) with a lotttt of trial and error. I imagine it’ll be a lot easier to get something much less specific going!

Thank you! I’ll do some digging. The dang thing has mounting holes but they’re NOT VESA. But 40USD for an IPS 1080p panel that can be powered AND video’d through one USB-C cable I can’t complain about!

Neat, very nice! I just got some new machines, I need to learn how to get one of my VPNs set up with gluetun and qbittorrent so I can stop doing on my windows machine and leave it going all the time…

What kinda monitor arm is that? I have one for a lil monitor I have but it uses a clamp on the top and bottom of the screen instead of screwing in. I’m looking for one that doesn’t stress the screen with so much pressure!

Niiiiice! I did SLI 7900GTs when Crysis came out and it ran at like 40+ FPS even with explosions on screen! It cost me an unholy amount…
the machine I now use for Beat Saber wasn’t as crazy as the Crysis machine: it’s an i5-4790k, 16 or 32GB DDR3, and a couple SSDs. I replaced its 1070 just because I had a better card laying around. I hope it works well for many years to come! It’s also SOMEHOW inexplicably powered by a 500w bronze semi-modular PSU that seems like it’s going to go on forever into eternity… I hope so, it’s been so good to me!

I have a machine that’s 12 years old, I built it back in the early 2010s. I have some extra video cards laying around so I slapped a 2080 in and it’s now a dedicated Beat Saber machine (I don’t touch Facebook or Google code on any device with PII, so I’ve really missed playing Beat Saber.)
It runs at 90+FPS no matter the song, and it’s got about 500 songs so far. I love that machine soooo much.

Thank you for the info! She’s being sunset for an air eventually here. Original battery, turns out she’s only got about 26 cycles—I thought her to bring to LAN parties with W7 as a dual boot and her video card kicked ass for that! Kept her plugged in all the time. Battery looks perfect, and on full brightness she gets through 1.75 playthroughs of Beetlejuice.
No rattles, always had a cooling mat with fans under her while I was playing games. Fans are all doing great!

2011 MacBook Pro 15” I’m still using, too! Mostly for just web browsing and picture storage. iPhoto is so good.
I did replace the optical drive with an SSD and maxed out the RAM, so that helps. My only complaint is USB2 is hella slow.
I thought so, too! Forgive my ignorance as I’m just getting into Linux and selfhosting—what do you use opnsense and promox on separate machines for?
Currently one of my machines is running Fedora as a home media computer, playing stuff in the living room 24/7 for the cats. The other one I’ve got Win10LTSCIoT and CatchyOS dual booted on, mostly using that for general computer stuff in Linux and running a modded game server in Windows.
